Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia presents #russianfashionmeet

On 26th of October Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia and Instagram arranged the first official InstaMeet in Russia. InstaMeet is the event where members of popular Instagram communities and ordinary Instagram followers meet together to communicate with each other and make new pictures for their accounts. The idea of such meetings originally comes from San Francisco. Several years ago a group of young people came to the headquarters of Instagram founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and asked to make a group photo. Similar event, called #russianfashionmeet, was held in the frames of the 29th season of MBFW Russia. The event brought together in one place fashion-bloggers, it-girls and popular instagrammers to meet each other, communicate and promote Russian fashion.

Guests of #russianfashionmeet were dressed in the apparel from Russian designers. Among the participants of the event were the model and TV host Elena Kuletskaya (@elenakuletskaya), chief editor of online-portal about Russian fashion RussModa Magazine Elizaveta Minaeva (@lizminaeva) and many others. The event was also attended by personalities of world's fashion press and blogosphere, among them were well-known street-style photographers Adam Katz Sinding (Style.com, Le 21ème) and Diego Zuko (Harper’s Bazaar). Guests had a chance to chat with Kristen Joy Watts (@kjwww) – fashion director of Istagram who specially came to Russia for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.

During #russianfashionmeet guests of the event visited the most attractive places of GUM (Major Department Store), they were making pictures and listening to interesting facts about the store. The venue for Instameet was chosen for a reason: being the oldest sales floor of the country, GUM is the ideal art-space in the historical centre of Moscow. Wandering around the department store was only a part of the program. Participants of #russianfashionmeet had a chance to make pictures on the Red Square, chat with the fashion top-liners and get in the cameras of world's street-art photographers who already captured a lot of guests of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Kristen Joy Watts had time to share her experience of arranging similar events internationally and expressed the hope to carry on partnership between Instagram and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.
